How can you deny that Uconn dominated the Fiesta Bowl this year?

Q. Okay, so the score was 48-20 when they lost to OU, but if you ignore the score board, Uconn dominated physically up front, and were simply the superior team on Saturday night. If there were 3 or 4 key plays, and the ball bounced more in favor of Uconn, it may have been a much closer game, proving that Uconn can hang with OU any night of the week.

A. you can deny it with words.

What is that thumb/forefinger gesture fans are using in the Fiesta Bowl?
Q. Watching the Fiesta Bowl, I see cheerleaders and fans using a gesture in which the thumb and forefinger are together, with the other three fingers extended and the hand is makig a tilting motion. What's the deal?

A. I think they are the "horns" for the TCU Horned Toads.

Is the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl the only bowl game named after a specific product and not just a company?
Q. It's not the Frito Lay Fiesta Bowl it's the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl a Frito Lay product. Is that the only one? I think it is. It's not the Allstate Whole Life Policy with Accidental Death and Dismemberment Sugar Bowl, or the Discover Platinum Card Orange Bowl, or the Beef O'Brady's Chicken Fingers Bowl, etc..

A. Well the Champs Sports Bowl is not the Foot Locker Inc Bowl. The Outback Bowl is not the OSI Restaurant Partners Bowl. Not exactly what you asked, but each of those bowls are named after brands/companies that are subsidiaries.

Was the FOX coverage of the Fiesta Bowl the worst so far this bowl season?
Q. When Texas was in their no huddle offense they provided us shots of the bands, the sidelines and the fans while Texas was running plays. Did the late coverage of the actual snaps get on anyone's nerves like mine?

A. Dont even get me started lol

Something to be said when a TV network handles the championship series and hasn't done a single college football game all year. Nothing but pro announcers handling the games. I don't mind the halftime shows. I love Barry Switzer and completely respect Jimmy Johnson, Eddie George is good as well.

But for the announcers during the game it was horrible.

Bad instant replay shots, not many good camera angles. I miss Kirk and Brent on ESPN!

Why is Texas in the Fiesta Bowl and not Texas Tech or Missouri?
Q. The Big 12 champion goes to the Fiesta Bowl, but in this case OU is going to the championship game. Missouri was actually the runner up in the Big 12 so why not them in the Fiesta Bowl? Tech beat Texas head to head, so why not them? It seems that Texas should have been at best the 3rd team from the Big 12. Or is it based strictly on BCS ratings,Texas being the higher ranked team so they get to go to the Fiesta Bowl?

A. As another person pointed out, the Fiesta bowl gets to select it's replacement for OU since OU is going to the NT game, but that selection is not without limits. They have to select a team with at least 9 wins and in the top 14 of the BCS rankings. They also cannot select a team that is tied to another bowl (Can't select USC or Penn St for instance). Finally they can't select a team from the same conference as the other team in the NT game (i.e. couldn't select Alabama).

So as you can see Missouri was not eligible for the Fiesta bowl because they were not in the top 14 BCS standings nor did they have 9 wins.

As for Texas Tech, they could have taken Texas Tech, but Texas was ranked higher in the BCS and quite frankly is a much better TV and ticket sales draw.
