Q. I know Lea Michele is a very rare talent but I know she sings with a strong head voice. What are some good techniques for strengthening my head voice? When I try to make my head voice stronger or even louder it just makes the sound lighter.

A. A strong head voice is not rare. If you are a soprano, you should be definition have a strong, ringing head voice.
I've heard the girl sing. She can sing, but I would not call her talent rare.
A strong head voice is a result of having a strong middle voice. The middle voice is the place that joins your chest and your head registers together, because to produce those notes with the strength and sound you need requires that both head and chest voices are engaged. If you have a weak middle, as many untrained singers do, that means that both your chest register and your head registration are not working in concert together. The power, fullness, and coloring of the notes in the head voice is helped by having some chest voice in those notes in the head voice.
Note that I am NOT talking about belting.
A voice teacher can help you strenghten your rmiddle voice. Until you nail the middle, you cannot really make your notes in the high range sound the way they should.
Without the chest registration grounding those high notes, they will sound shrill and piercing. The chest gives more of a solidity to those notes so that they don't sound shrill and light.
