Is American football the greatest sport known to man?

Q. It demands strategic planning, quick mental and physical reactions, speed, power, memory, agility, passion, endurance, discipline, dedication, and most importantly, is void of crybaby men who can't take a hit.
It's like modern day gladiator fighting. How can any other simpleton sport compare to test the raw abilities of man?

A. We all know that baseball is the All American Sport but I think when it comes down to the favorite sport, I think American Football seems to be getting most of both Male n Female attention. Yes, I said female attention too because these days most women seem to be more fanatical about football than girly sports ..So yes, I would say it will be the greatest in about 10yrs time.

How come American football players practically kill themselves over a quarter?
Q. It all starts with the referee tossing a quarter, and for the rest of the game all you hear is ''get the quarter back! get the quarter back!"

Now I know the US economy is a bit strapped down, but this is ridiculous.

What's going on?

A. lol, you must be britt?

In American football, why would you want to wear a facemask that purposefully blocks your vision?
Q. I don't understand why you'd want to have one of those facemasks that have a bar right down the centre of your vision...
Jorge, if you were smart you'd know the f'in difference between a FACEMASK and a HELMET.

A. That is for protection. Not just against the ball, but for protection so that players don't accidentially reach in and injure the player's eyes. Of course 1 bar doesn't exactly protect totally against it (which is why some players have visors instead) but I suppose 1 bar rather than nothing protects more than not. All you need to know is that it protects against further injuries.

How well do American football gloves work if I am a keeper in soccer?
Q. Would they work better or worse than regular goalkeeper ones? Football gloves appear to have MUCH more grip.

A. football gloves are fantastic in soccer, the only problem is they don't increase the surface area of your hands like soccer gloves.

What's the difference between American Football and Canadian Football?
Q. The two games look very alike to me and I am presuming there are some differences. Otherwise why bother to call them different names. Also, some of the American players wear funny looking kind of apron things and I have no idea what these are for. I used to play rugby myself and to some people its just as hard to figure out as American/Canadian football. Thanks for the info.

A. Go here and scroll down to the part where it says "differences" You will learn all about it here is the link.

What does a best answerer in American Football and a tattoo parlor in Hawaii have in common?

What is the name of the Rising american football player who's still very young and weighs real heavy ?
Q. I remember reading about him once somewhere. He has won many small titles and he's still somehow young (19-21) if i remember correctly but weighs really heavy. I think it said that he's the heaviest not to enter the professional sport.

A. Ndomukong Suh?

How does the substitution process work in American football? How do the players know they have to go out?
Q. How do the players know that they have to go out or in? Do the coaches point to them or do they have predefined signs for substitution packages? Or do they show their numbers on the sideline?
Thanks!

A. Coaches make the call of who goes in or out. The player going in usually needs to tell the player that needs to go out. Someone is responsible for counting in the huddle to make sure there are 11 guys. And certain plays have certain players that should know if they need to be on the field or not. There are different ways to do it.

How is American football different from Canadian football?

Q. Can you please explain this to me in a simple form using contrast?

A. American field is 100 yards long (middle line is the 50) and 50 wide, Canadian field is 110 yards long (middle line is the 55) and 65 wide
American end zones are 10 yards deep with goalposts at the back, Canadian end zones are 20 yards deep with goalposts at the front
American football has 4 downs to make 10 yards, Canadian has 3 downs
American has 11 players on the field at a time, Canadian has 12
In Canadian football, a kick (kickoff, missed FG, or punt) that enters the receiving team's end zone and goes out of bounds or is not brought out scores 1 point for the kicking team (proper name is a rouge, but more commonly just called a single)
Canadian overtime is shootout style: each team gets a drive from their opponent's 35 yard line. If the score remains tied after both teams have had a drive then they do it again. If it's still tied after the second time then the game ends in a tie.
There are quite a few more differences but these are the major ones.
