How do I stop Linkedin from sending an update to all of my connections?

Q. I want to update my profile but I don't want it going to all my contacts. I just want to update I don't want people to think I am looking for another job.

A. I don't think you can I think updates are sent to all connections. In a way that's the whole point of LinkedIn so people can let others know what's going on. If you change your profile it doesn't have to mean you are looking for a new job.

How can I make my linkedin profile viewable only by my connections and those I want to view my profile?
Q. I've tried going to settings and editing my public profile. Make my public profile visible to no one doesn't work.

A. Visit the profile settings and then, privacy settings... Now, allow to show your profile to the public....

Q. I'd love to know how the founders of those popular sites hosted their websites when they first began as start ups? Have they used online web hosting companies to host their sites? If yes any idea which are those? Thanks for your answer.

A. they probably had their own servers, which they bought, its expensive though unless you have a unique idea of a website and a professional team to implement it. use any hosting company and if you notice your website is becoming big buy your own servers and higher people to manage them. for now I recommend HostGator, they are pretty good, here is a 25% off coupon: 25OFFURORDER

How do I contact someone over LinkedIn without an enhanced account?
Q. Someone at a company I'm interested in working for viewed my profile, he's also an alumnus from my same university. I want to begin communication from this person but I don't know how without upgrading my account for $20/month. Adding him as a connection doesn't seem appropriate at this moment in time and upgrading my account doesn't seem worth it right now either as LinkedIn hasn't shown to me it's worth it, yet.

Advice?

A. Hi! It seems like it would be OK to add him as a connection, unless you know a reason I'm not thinking of as to why it would be inappropriate? The other option would be to try to find his email address on his company's website. Good luck! :)

Q. On Linkedin I want to add different societies and activities that I am involved in under my education section. How do I make them be on different lines?

What are some social networking sites similar to LinkedIn?

Q. My uncle has to get a new job, and it was recommended that he join some social networking sites such as LinkedIn to gain connections and speak to others in his profession. I was asked to gather a list of these sites for him, but the only thing I can think of is LinkedIn. I know there are ones like Facebook and MySpace, but I mean more professional-geared sites. Any suggestions?

It's perfectly OK to market yourself for the industry you want to work in, which includes building an online persona that portrays you as a "member" of that industry. Of course you'll need to do other things to make that online persona credible, like an internship, work-study, or self-publishing activities.

Q. When I tried to upload my pdf resume, Linkedin didn't just store the simple pdf. Instead, Linkedin pulled sentences and phrases out of context and tried to "re assemble" it in a completely meaningless jumbled mess.
is it possible to simply upload your resume to Linkedin?

A. Embed the link of the resume and then, upload it....

A. There is no such universal. Facebook app works perfectly fine. But not on linkedin...g+ can be linked with twitter but not with fb

Why can't I access sites such as LinkedIn or Photobucket on the internet on my computer?
Q. I can't get passed the "Cannot Display" Page.

No matter how many times I refresh the page or try anything else, the internet cannot load these sites.

However, on other people's computers and my computer at work, the sites load no problem.

How do I resolve this? This is so frustrating. Thank you very much.
